Police continue investigation into death

MARANA -- On May 16, at 11:14 p.m., officers from the Marana Police Department responded to a residence located in the 8900 block of N. Palm Brook Drive in response to a 911 call. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male and female in the home. The male, 59-year old Jerry Dean Mayfield, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Rattlesnake Ridge Elementary Teacher Awarded a $5,000 grant money to be used to fight childhood obesity

MARANA -- Physical Education elementary school teacher Carol Wolbert challenged her 95 fifth-graders to eat healthier and get more exercise for 28 consecutive days. Their efforts were awarded with a $5,000 grant for Rattlesnake Ridge Elementary School from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona.
